Fruit

As I sit here, 5:50 AM, the Tuesday after spring break, preparing to return to work, I read this scripture.  These are the things I long for, and although today, I feel as though the fruit is evident, I haven’t had any confrontations with parents, staff or students yet.  I desire the sweetness of God’s presence, even in the midst of busyness.

I also notice that confidence is not a fruit, but I do know that the Holy spirit allows us to go confidently before Him, and before judges and kings.  This may be a word study in the future.

Where Is Your Faith?

1. TROUBLES separate fans from true Christ followers.
—————————
you know what people are really like when troubles hit. have you ever struggled with faith? yes….
—————————

Where Is Your Faith?

2. Fear and Faith make strange BED fellows.
—————————
interesting….this is today’s prompt for praying for my husband today…. praying that we would have faith over fear.

I did have faith that God would provide for the taxes. He is….

Jesus always understands what is.going on in our lives.

Get busy living or you’ll be busy dying.

Peace…

Thomas was missing….there are advantages to showing up…

‭‭John 20:24‬‭ ‬‭MSG‬‬
But Thomas, sometimes called the Twin, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples told him, “We saw the Master.” But he said, “Unless I see the nail holes in his hands, put my finger in the nail holes, and stick my hand in his side, I won’t believe it.”

There Are Two Of Us In All Of Us!

1. There is the ideal (full of FAITH) you and the real (full of DOUBT) you.
—————————
Thomas Was Known as on twin. There are 2 of us inside . on The me in public and the private me . The ideal person praise jesus . The real person- who lives in doubt.
—————————

There Are Two Of Us In All Of Us!

2. We have to drag our doubts to Jesus or our doubts will drag us to Hell.
—————————
healing comes when you touch the resurrection power . Getting into the presence of God instead of staying in your doubt and discouragement .

we tend to remember and think the worst of someone.

Lord
show me how to see the good in everyone. Even my kids who You love more than I do.

‭‭John 20:28-29‬‭ ‬‭NKJV‬‬
And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

There Are Two Of Us In All Of Us!

3. The rest of your life CAN be the best of your life.

‭‭John 20:19-23‬‭ ‬‭MSG‬‬
Later on that day, the disciples had gathered together, but, fearful of the Jews, had locked all the doors in the house. Jesus entered, stood among them, and said, “Peace to you.” Then he showed them his hands and side. The disciples, seeing the Master with their own eyes, were exuberant. Jesus repeated his greeting: “Peace to you. Just as the Father sent me, I send you.” Then he took a deep breath and breathed into them. “Receive the Holy Spirit,” he said. “If you forgive someone’s sins, they’re gone for good. If you don’t forgive sins, what are you going to do with them?”

‭‭John 20:24-31‬‭ ‬‭MSG‬‬
But Thomas, sometimes called the Twin, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples told him, “We saw the Master.” But he said, “Unless I see the nail holes in his hands, put my finger in the nail holes, and stick my hand in his side, I won’t believe it.” Eight days later, his disciples were again in the room. This time Thomas was with them. Jesus came through the locked doors, stood among them, and said, “Peace to you.” Then he focused his attention on Thomas. “Take your finger and examine my hands. Take your hand and stick it in my side. Don’t be unbelieving. Believe.” Thomas said, “My Master! My God!” Jesus said, “So, you believe because you’ve seen with your own eyes. Even better blessings are in store for those who believe without seeing.” Jesus provided far more God-revealing signs than are written down in this book. These are written down so you will believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and in the act of believing, have real and eternal life in the way he personally revealed it.

Serving

image

Woke up feeling a bit cranky, unappreciated and totally overwhelmed by all that needs to be done.  I don’t feel very well, and really want to keep up my running schedule, which is 50 minutes today…. my husband may or may not want to go pick up implements in Ripon today…. I tried to make it work so that we would have gone yesterday, after dropping littles off, all he needed to do was see if it was ok to drop off the trailer, and then we could have woken up in sacramento….. free hotel and all…..

So here I am, feeling unappreciated for my attempt to help, and I read that Jesus came to serve.  Talk about conviction.   Whoever wants to be first among you must be a slave….vs 27.

Thank you Jesus for your holy spirit! Thank you for loving me when I am udderly selfish and a pain.  Love your child Craig, through me.  Go before me, to open the way for the tough conversations.  Lead us.  Draw us close together.

Convincing Power Of The Cross:

1. The RIGHTEOUSNESS of Christ.
—————————
Crosses were not as elevated as the books show them. normally they were only 3 feet off the ground on a busy intersection So people could see .

How Jesus was crucified was not the way it normally happened. Even the Roman Centurions Knew this
—————————

‭‭Luke 23:47‬‭ ‬‭NIV‬‬
The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.”

2. The RESPONSE of Heaven.

Convincing Power Of The Cross:

3. My IDENTIFICATION with the Cross.
—————————
how can you bounce back after crucifying Jesus?

—————————

‭‭Galatians 2:19‬‭ ‬‭MSG‬‬
What actually took place is this: I tried keeping rules and working my head off to please God, and it didn’t work. So I quit being a “law man” so that I could be God’s man. Christ’s life showed me how, and enabled me to do it. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not “mine,” but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I am not going to go back on that. Is it not clear to you that to go back to that old rule-keeping, peer-pleasing religion would be an abandonment of everything personal and free in my relationship with God? I refuse to do that, to repudiate God’s grace. If a living relationship with God could come by rule-keeping, then Christ died unnecessarily.

The Benefits of The Cross:

—————————

saints dont make good sinners, but sinners make good saints.

God wont love us any more or any less based on our actions.

The Benefits of The Cross:

3. WATER BAPTISM is one of the two most important signs for a believer.
—————————
buried into His death

New person in Christ jesus. Water baptism and communion are signs of A Changed life .

Water cannot save you.
—————————

The Benefits of The Cross:

4. The Cross gives me RESURRECTION power
—————————
Thank you Jesus for the change in my life – for loving me even when I was a sinner
—————————

‭‭Matthew 27:45-54‬‭ ‬‭NIV‬‬
From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” ). When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.” Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.” And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people. When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”

‭‭Romans 6:1-7‬‭ ‬‭MSG‬‬
So what do we do? Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving? I should hope not! If we’ve left the country where sin is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there? Or didn’t you realize we packed up and left there for good? That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace—a new life in a new land! That’s what baptism into the life of Jesus means. When we are lowered into the water, it is like the burial of Jesus; when we are raised up out of the water, it is like the resurrection of Jesus. Each of us is raised into a light-filled world by our Father so that we can see where we’re going in our new grace-sovereign country. Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life—no longer at sin’s every beck and call! What we believe is this: If we get included in Christ’s sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection. We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end. Never again will death have the last word. When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us. From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That’s what Jesus did.

Forward Leading with compassion

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.
Colossians 3:12-13, 16 NLT

(Day 7 of Foward, a devotional from the Bible ap)

“What Compassion Can Do for Forward Leaders”

Jesus Christ’s compassion towards people was the fuel for His disciples to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ globally. Everywhere Jesus went, His compassion created a culture of love and care for others. He loved them, not what they could do for Him.

Compassion Fuels Passion
Passion is one of the greatest things needed in a leader. We can get everyone worked up through a motivational speech about how they should do something, but we must also care about them. Perhaps there is more truth in this cliché than we may want to admire: “People never care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”

Compassion Creates Culture
Compassion creates a culture for walking slowly through the crowd, listening intently to what others are saying. This demonstrates an unselfish concern for others—for them personally first, *but also for what they do in their job. This kind of compassionate leadership that invests privately into the lives of others creates a capital beyond words or what can be put on a spreadsheet.

Compassion Influences Productivity
A compassionate leader influences the organization to greater productivity. In fact, there can be 10 times greater production when the leader enters into the world of others with great compassion. This really should not surprise us at all. A compassionate leader brings enormous value to their organization.

Today, pray: “Lord, fill with compassion for others. Allow me to see what others see, hear what others hear, and feel what others feel. Lord, enable me to be moved with compassion.

Lord, I do desire to be a compassionate leader.  Please fill me with your spirit, that I may be compassionate, as you are compassionate.  That I may model your  tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience and forgiveness.

Remaining teachable

Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment.
Proverbs 4:7 NLT
http://bible.com/116/pro.4.7.NLT

So often people do not remain teachable.     They justify their hardened spirit by  saying they have always done it this way.

How to Grow in Teachability” From the time the people of God left Egypt, God has sent many prophets to call them back to God. The people of God have repeatedly failed to be learners—the result was that they went backward, not forward.

Being unteachable never leads you toward God, but away from God. It never results in upward spiritual movement, but in spiritual decline. When God corrects us, He is calling us back to Himself. When we reject His correction, we move away from Him dangerously. When we choose not to learn personally, we forfeit the privilege to lead others.

There are four characteristics of a leader who is growing in their teachability.

Ongoing Humility: Many times, our own mistakes move us to great humility. The world calls it weakness, but God calls it strength.

Learning to Learn: Growing in teachability involves us learning to learn from God and others. The result is that we will become wiser the longer we live.

Gaining Wisdom: We discover wisdom from God’s Word as we read it, meditate upon it, and practice what it says. When we do this, our future is limitless and our hope abounds.

Growing Daily: Remember that God uses His people, at time, to speak to us. People can help shape the vision that God places within our heart.

Today, ask the Lord to counsel and instruct you. “Lord, through your Holy Spirit please counsels me, grow me, develop me, and develop within me a growing teachability. Lord, use me for your glory, and use those around me to teach me.”
