God speaking

It seems there are times I hear Jesus speaking to me more clearly than others.

Last week, when considering the house on Ben maddox, in my oh so stubborn mind, God asked if I would cut off my arm for the house.   Of course I wouldn’t.   So I can never consider moving alone.

Last night, after talking a few minutes about how I’ve been feeling,  God told me in the still small voice, that Craig is here to protect me.

Read John 4: 10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water”

Math 18:12-14 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

What is God saying to you through these verses? all I need is God. I think I need all sorts of things, and constantly make “deals” but the source of everything is Jesus….

2. What is the difference between focusing on your choices and accepting His choices made on your behalf?

Being content, and whole

3. Read John 9: 25 and Luke 19: 1-8. What happened when each of these individuals encountered Jesus?

They both saw, acknowledge and gave Him their lives.

http://bible.com/111/jhn.9.25.niv He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”

http://bible.com/111/luk.19.1-8.niv Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.” But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

4. Write down Luke 4: 18, but put your name in this Scripture . Place this personalized verse in a place where you will see it every day this week.

http://bible.com/111/luk.4.18.niv “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,

5. Read Galatians 5: 1. “Work-harder” teachings are a “yoke of slavery” like the one described in this verse. What does Jesus offer in place of this burden?

6. One of the promises in Jesus’ mission statement is that He brings “good news.” After reading today’s chapter, the good news for you is . . . (finish the sentence in your own words).

7. In this chapter , you read about three things you don’t have to do. In fact, the more you don’t do these things, the more you live in Him. The more you don’t do these things, the more you build a foundation of rest. The more you don’t do these things, the more joy you rediscover in your faith. Describe your response to this:

From “Mended” ,by Suzanne Eller

Brokenness can result from discouragement and unmet expectations—in plans that fly far astray from the way you thought they would go; from events you didn’t see coming and couldn’t prevent even if you did; from the choices of your past— or the choices of others that brought pain into your life. We could focus on how the brokenness came to be, but what might happen if we turned to the promise found in Luke 4 instead?

http://bible.com/111/luk.4.18.niv “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,    because he has anointed me    to proclaim good news to the poor.    He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners    and recovery of sight for the blind,    to set the oppressed free,

I don’t always feel that I am allowed to be broken.  People have expectations of leaders, that are not always possible.  My brokenness keeps my feet on the ground.  Thank you Jesus for the healing you’ve done and will continue to do.  Thank you for the brokenness that always points to you.  I don’t always understand how I can struggle with insecurity and feeling unloved, but Lord, you know what I need.

Show me how to give to my husband what he needs also.  Open our lines of communication.  The vision. I just had as I prayed that was of pulling off a bandage that was stuck to the skin pretty well.  It will reopen wounds when torn off, but then can begin healing.   Thank you Jesus.  Give me strength.

“Embracing Jesus’ mission statement might require going against your feelings. It’s a trust walk— both on days when you feel it and on those days when you trust God despite your feelings. It’s not always easy, but things of great value rarely come without personal discovery, exploration, insight and renewed direction. ”

Most miracles are not instantaneous, they happen over time.

Is marriage to make us happy or holy?

http://bible.com/111/rom.8.26-28.niv In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

The ironic secret is one of the greatest discoveries you can make: focusing on what God’s already done for you is what makes you a more perfect partner. When you’re focused on God, you don’t care so much about what you’re getting out of it. But you might care more deeply about what your spouse is receiving.

From Healing a marriage devotional

As Gary Thomas asks in his book, The Sacred Marriage, “What if God designed marriage not to make us happy, but to make us holy?”

Have you noticed positive changes in yourself since being married? Have you shared those with your spouse?

Check out this 3 bd, 2.0 ba, 1,655 sqft home at 31404 Road 132 APT A that I found on Zillow: http://u.zillow.com/p165Y4

I very much liked this house, but I need to trust God. I don’t think I can afford it, don’t have a down payment and don’t have a decent credit score.

I did put the property in Craigs list
25 acres for $25,000 per acre.

Lord, help me to trust in You alone.

(I love you Lori)

25 acres @$20,000 per acre is $500,000 /3 = $166,000. – $35 current loan = 131,000 – $60 1.5 acre = 71,000 – $30 down payment = 41k to fix up fresno, ranch and move mobile.

1000 for fresno house
500 ranch house
800 mobile
2300 per month
Mortgage would be about 1800 +650
